								Thanks
								Tom,
								Jim Brown did the
XPS analysis on the wire insulation and there
not actual Tefzel as advertised but PVDF, a
polyvinyliden fluoride. They do not contain
filler material such as Calcium etc. as we
suspected. I'm going to have Jim do a Kapton
sample to identify which type of polyimide film
								it is.
								Brown's report
will not be available mid-July (surprise) but
perhaps a week later. I'll let you know.
								Best regards,
								Jim Foot

FOOT uses the term ‘Calcium etc.’ and does not
								mention magnesium.  However, since the
information was that the filler likely contains
magnesium, and there is no filler present, then
the ‘etc’ includes magnesium.  So there is
no magnesium in any of these wires.  The
Kapton wire is forwarded for testing, but that
has already failed to show magnesium when the
Seattle wires were AES examined.  We are
beginning to use up some of the likely sources.
