….

Had a talk with John GARSTANG over various things.  It seems that they have conducted further time/temperature tests on the oxygen lines, and 5 out of 6 times, the aluminium cap on the steel line has melted and blown at about 1000 deg after about 3 to 5 minutes.  The cap leaves a ring of threaded metal on the steel pipe, but breaks by means of a granular fracture whereby the top breaks away from the sides.

Also, the recent turnover of Dr. BROWN’s material to the RCMP may have actually started because John strongly recommended to Vic GERDEN that he take Dr. BROWN’s report to the RCMP, that the TSB has to advise us because of the nature of the contents.  It seems that John had approached GERDEN a while ago when he first heard of the results.  How it was then arranged, I don’t know.  It was suggested that GERDEN may have asked the RCMP (LATHEM) to ask him for a copy of the report.
