I found that a few
things were wrong about these findings. One of the
four categories that the original successful candidate won this time around,
he had lost to another (third) candidate during the original
promotion board. So, even though he beat me in this
category, he did not own it. If the third candidate had
been included in this board, that third candidate should still
have won that category instead of the successful candidate.
Next, consider that the successful candidate had eleven years in
Forensic Ident while I had twenty-seven. Can anyone
honestly say that both he and I had equal qualifications in
Education/Training and especially in Experience. Consider
the experience of Swissair 111 and all that was involved, and
that the winner never stepped foot in either hangar.
However, promoting me would have caused a severe embarrassment
and potential problems for management, especially with regards
to the final ruling for the Swissair 111 file.
