(CLARIFICATION):  I attended a meeting with Lee Fraser and Vic Gorman to discuss what I was doing in the hangar.  Lee already knew that Garstang had requested a full-time Identification Section member to undertake his specialized panoramic and object model photography in a systematic manner, and he had a number of other requirements.   These procedures all needed a continuity and consistency of process, something that members attending the hangar a week at a time could not perform in a satisfactory and efficient manner.  There was also the fact that this was a sudden death investigation, and because it was both in the Halifax Ident Section's area and I was in charge of the section, there was a need to learn as much as possible about the fire investigation.  Because it was a fire investigation, no one else on the Ident Section was as qualified as was I.
