99-11-17          0645    Morning routine.  ….

At 1000 hrs had a meeting with Insp. LATHEM, Vic GORMAN, Keith STOTHART, Karl CHRISTIANSEN, Brian LONDON & me.  Went over the report and generally the language was toned down.  Anything referring directly to the criminal aspect was adjusted to be less blunt, and LATHEM ensured that everything that was stated in the report could be backed up by hard information.  He advised that he had already forewarned the chain of command of our concerns and that the report was forthcoming.  Later, we discussed the AES testing.  I told him of some of my concerns and requirements for further testing and told him of the tables.  He wants a separate memo put together outlining everything and to forward it through Vic GORMAN.  Regarding the movement of the exhibits to Ottawa, he stated that he had advised the Crim Ops officer, the CO, and various people in HQ that it should not and cannot happen.  As far as he is concerned, TSB is wasting their time by measuring up everything for the move, as it will not happen.
